BIO
Dave Shafran was born and raised in L.A. At the age of nineteen he bought a one-way ticket to Mississippi and spent the next three years playing blues on the streets of Mississippi and Louisiana for change. During that time he lived in basements, under stairwells and even on the sidewalk. Dave also performed in rural juke joints in the Delta and in the French Quarter of New Orleans.

Upon his return to L.A. Dave formed The Downbeats with harmonica wizard Mad Dog Moore. The Downbeats, an eclectic group not afraid to mix blues with punk and performance art, played all of L.A.'s famous clubs during the late 80's and early 90's.

In 1992 Dave joined The RedHot Blues as lead singer and guitarist, a position he would hold for the next fourteen years. The RedHot Blues toured the U.S. and internationally, and released four CD's, including LIVE in 2003.

Dave's vocal influences include Paul Rodgers, Ray Charles, Greg Allman and Delbert McClinton. Since 2006 Dave has traveled and performed as a solo artist, here and abroad, including his fourth annual marathon run of shows in Asia.

Shafran has drawn comparisons to Greg Allman and Joe Cocker with his highly emotional delivery.Blues Connection
